Aisle, one of India’s most popular dating platform , has released new data indicating that an increasing number of Indian women are comfortable utilizing online dating services.
When compared to the same period last year, it saw a 40% rise in female installs in the first half of 2021. Aisle wants to be more suited to local singles as a ‘high-intent’ dating app than those that promote more casual meetings.
There has also been a 300 percent increase in the number of ‘Invites’ sent by women, indicating that they are seeking control.
Women are 50% more likely than males to match with verified accounts, indicating that they want to be sure they’re engaging with people who are honest and transparent.
In May, Aisle debuted its new ‘Settle Down’ feature. Users can now display how serious they are about seeking a committed relationship and how soon they want to settle down with the new upgrade.
“In India, the trajectory of a successful relationship is for it to culminate in a marriage,” Able Joseph, the company’s founder and CEO, said at the time. We wanted to bridge the gap between modern dating and nuptials with ‘Settle Down,’ and Aisle has always been a supporter of long-term relationships."
In the two months since the feature was introduced, 50% of women have expressed a desire to be married within a year, compared to 38% of males.
However, the pandemic caused the majority of users to disregard proximity as a priority, which could lead to problems as the relationship progresses. Since the beginning of 2020, 86 percent of women have matched with someone who is not in their same geographic location.
